Well, it takes that we have a free spot on that character ! Currently we are missing BLU Demoman and we aren’t taking anyone else, tough we have rule that we take two of every character, but because we are missing one we are not taking others. Well About age, we don’t look at age that much, youngest of us is about 14 and oldest 22, you just need to be able to come to con and make your costume and make it good as possible. 
And well after you join derp-fortress we have this rule ” 3 strikes” and if you brake the rules / or something what makes everyone else feel bad you will have them, when you get 3 of them you will be kicked out of the group.
